Description
Softer mane and tail, easier grooming
Burt’s Bees for Horses Detangling Conditioner is the second half of the wash. Used after the matching shampoo, it smooths the coat, mane and tail so a comb runs through instead of snagging, and it puts moisture back into skin that a wash has just cleaned. The formula is 97.3 percent natural origin and pH balanced for horses.
Key benefits
- Smooths the mane and tail so brushing out takes less time and pulls fewer hairs
- Leaves the coat soft, clean and naturally shiny rather than heavy or coated
- pH balanced for horses, so it supports skin instead of drying it
- Coconut oil softens, apple cider vinegar helps smooth, and honey conditions
- Lightweight and easy to rinse, with no heavy build up on the coat
- 97.3 percent natural origin, made without sulfates, fragrances or colourants
- Bottle made with 80 percent post consumer recycled plastic
How to use
- Wash first with Burt’s Bees for Horses Detangling Shampoo.
- Massage the conditioner into the mane and tail first to start the detangling, keeping well away from the face.
- Work the conditioner through the rest of the coat.
- Comb through, then rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
Ingredients
Water, cetearyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, cocos nucifera (coconut) extract, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, beeswax, citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate.
Cetrimonium chloride is the detangling agent, the one that makes hair sit flat so a comb can pass. Coconut oil, honey and beeswax are what leave the coat soft afterwards.
Storage and care tips
Keep the bottle cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, and cap it between uses. For external use only. Do not rub it directly into the eyes, and keep it out of reach of children and animals.
FAQs
Can I use my own shampoo on my horse? Better not to. Horse skin sits at a different pH to human skin, so human shampoo tends to strip it and leave the coat dry and itchy. This one is formulated for horses.
How much does one bottle do? The 946ml bottle covers a lot of ground because the formula is low lather and goes a long way. For a full body wash on an average horse, most people get several washes out of a bottle.
Is it safe around the face? Keep it away from the face and eyes. Work the mane and tail first, then the rest of the coat, and rinse thoroughly.
Do I have to rinse it out? Yes. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry. It is a rinse out conditioner, not a leave in detangler.
