Methimazole Spot-On for Cats is an easy to use treatment for hyperthyroidism
- It’s applied once daily to the inside of the cat’s ear with finger gloves
- As a gel application it means no more tablets!
- It’s tolerated much more than conventional hyperthyroid treatments
Apply the gel daily under your veterinarian’s instructions using the finger gloves provided. Alternate ears each day and if there is any crusting due to accumulation of the medication please wash off before applying
Hyperthyroidism in Cats
Feline hyperthyroidism is one of the most common endocrinopathies of older cats over 8 years of age, and the incidence appears to be increasing.
The classic clinical picture:
● polyphagia ● weight loss ● polyuria/polydipsia ● hyperactivity or agitation ● vomiting/diarrhoea ● palpable cervical mass ● tachycardia ● rough coat ● average age 13 years (range of 4-20 years)3
