My Maine Coon feels like a new man now – a combination of Glycoflex and a moderate dose of Metacam seems to be ideal for him. I was initially put off Glycoflex chews as he wouldn’t eat them, either on their own or broken up in food. So I have to put them down his throat (which he doesn’t mind), having first moulded them into a shape I find easier to do this. I also haven’t followed the dosing advice. He is a big boy and per instructions he would have needed 6/day initially, and 3/day maintenance. That’s a lot, and I was concerned they would upset his sensitive gut, so started with 1/day, upping to 2/day after 2 weeks. After discussions with his vet have stuck with 2/day, have had no gut issues, and he feels wonderful.
