Altreno Oral Ingredients

2.2mg/ml Altrenogest

Actions

Altreno Oral contains a synthetic form of progesterone called Altrenogest. Given daily Altreno Oral reliably prevents mares from coming into heat or oestrus. When use of Altreno Oral is discontinued, mares will return to oestrus with 4 to 5 days.

Indications

Administer Altreno Oral daily for:

Induction of ovulatory oestrus in mares that are observed to have some follicle activity early in the breeding season.
Induce cyclical ovarian activity in mares that are observed to have some follicle activity early in the breeding season.
Suppression of oestrus in mares with normal cycles.
Controlling the breeding cycle of the mare.

Administer Altreno Oral daily shortly after ovulation to inseminated mares up to the 120th day of gestation for mares prone to aborting or at risk of early embryonic death

Dosage and Administration

For oral administration administer 1 ml per 50kg bodyweight of Altreno Oral, which is equivalent to 0.044mg Altrenogest per kg daily by mixing with feed at a single feeding per day or administer directly into the mouth with a syringe or dosing gun.
