Allergy symptoms, which depend on the substance involved, can affect the airways, sinuses and nasal passages, skin, and digestive system. Reactions can range from mild to severe – from runny eye and nose with watery fluid, to head flicking and particularly irritating skin rashes.

Albezzia lebbek is a tree found throughout India and northern Australia. The bark from the  stems of Albizzia has been used traditional Indian herbal medicine for centuries for allergic respiratory conditions such as asthma, hayfever and eczema.Albezzia’s main action is anti-allergic, which gives it great scope in modern society where allergies tend to be among the more common ailments. It is now well-established that the immune system is involved where-ever allergic reactions are found and that stress depletes the immune system.

What basically happens where an allergy occurs is that an allergen (or offending substance) triggers the formation of an anitbody. When the antibody comes into contact with the allergen, it leads to the release of histamine from the mast cells in the mucus membranes. By its stabilising effect on the mast cells, Albizzia makes them less likely to release their inflammatory contents (including histamine) into the region. It also decreases the number of these allergy-producing antibodies therefore toning down the allergy.
