Description
Royal Canin Renal dry is a complete dietetic feed for cats formulated to support renal function in the case of chronic renal insufficiency, through its restricted levels of phosphorus and high-quality proteins. Renal dry is also formulated to reduce oxalate stone formation through its low level of calcium and Vitamin D, and its urine alkalising properties. Recommendations: It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use. Initially feed Renal dry for up to 6 months in cases of chronic renal insufficiency and reduction of oxalate stone formation. Recommended for cases of: Azotemic Chronic Kidney Disease (IRIS stage 2 to stage 4), Management of calcium oxalate urolith recurrence in cats with impaired renal function, Prevention of recurrence of urolithiasis requiring urine alkalinisation: urate & cystine uroliths.

Ingredients
Maize flour, rice, animal fats, wheat gluten*, vegetable fibres, maize gluten, soya protein isolate*, maize, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, chicory pulp, dehydrated poultry protein, fish oil, soya oil, mono – and diglycerides of palmitic and stearic acids esterified with citric acid, psyllium husks and seeds, fructo-oligo-saccharides, marigold extract (source of lutein). Protein sources: wheat gluten*, maize gluten, soya protein isolate*, hydrolysed animal proteins, dehydrated poultry protein.
Feeding Guidelines
Renal diets are recommended from late IRIS Stage 2, as soon as creatinine levels move out of reference range.Royal Canin therapeutic veterinary diets are carefully formulated and strictly recommended to be used only under the advice of your veterinarian. We (Vet Post) and Royal Canin strongly recommend you seek advice from your veterinarian prior to and during feeding this product to your pet and that you take your pet to your vet regularly (every 6 months).
Initially feed for up to 6 months, or as advised by your veterinarian. This diet is complete and balanced and can be fed long-term. A full health check should be performed by a veterinarian every 6 months. In most cases, renal diets can be fed for the cat’s lifetime.
Regular monitoring is essential, including:
- Renal biomarkers
- Blood mineral levels
In cases of diet-induced hypercalcaemia, switching to Early Renal may be required.
Other mineral imbalances (e.g. hypokalaemia) may require additional veterinary treatment.
