Seresto Flea Collar for Dogs provides eight months of protection against fleas and ticks.
Ensure your dog’s well-being with Seresto, an innovative collar providing up to eight months of protection against fleas and ticks. Say goodbye to frequent applications and hello to hassle-free, long-lasting security.
Key Features:
Long-lasting protection: Seresto offers long lasting defense against fleas and ticks, providing 8 months of protection.
Odorless and water-resistant: Your pet stays comfortable while being fully protected.
Kills fleas on contact: The active ingredient spreads across your dogs coat, which means fleas don’t need to bite to die, minimizing stress and discomfort caused by flea bites.
Breaks the flea life cycle: Kills both fleas and flea larvae helping to break the flea life cycle.
Prevents home infestation: Seresto not only safeguards your pet but also prevents fleas from infesting your home. As your dog naturally sheds skin and fur, the active ingredient also sheds into the environment, killing flea larvae.
Tick Protection: the second active ingredient kills and repells ticks. Effective against larval, nymph and adult life cycle stages of the tick.
How Seresto Works:
Powered by advanced polymer matrix technology, Seresto releases active ingredients gradually, in controlled, low doses, forming an invisible shield against fleas and ticks upon contact. Seresto also treats lice infestation in dogs.
How to fit a Seresto Collar:
1. Remove the collar from the pouch. Remove any remaining plastic connectors on the inside of the collar.
2. Put the collar around your dog’s neck and insert the loose end into the 2 loops
3. Make sure the collar is not too tight nor too loose. Ideally two fingers should fit, laid flat between the collar and your dog’s neck.
4. Cut off any extra length of the collar, leaving about 2cm of the loose end beyond the second loop.
5. You will find 3 reflector clips in the tin that can be attached to the collar. These reflectors can help to increase your dogs visibility at night. Evenly distribute the clips on the non-overlapping part of the collar. The clips are correctly applied when a clicking sound is heard. The collar should be checked regularly to ensure that it still fits correctly. The fit should be adjusted if necessary, particularly on rapidly growing puppies. FAQs:
Q: Is this the right size for my dog?
A: Seresto for large dogs is for dogs over 8kg in weight, and over 7 weeks of age. For dogs under 8kg, see Seresto for small dogs
Q: How does Seresto flea collars work?
A: Seresto’s innovative technology delivers safe, low doses of 2 active ingredients over time, ensuring continuous protection.
Q: Can my dog swim with Seresto?
A: Yes, Seresto is water-resistant, allowing your pet to enjoy water activities without having to take the collar off when your dog goes for a bath or swim. However, prolonged and repeated exposure to water (i.e. more than one bath per month), or heavy shampooing may reduce the collars efficacy over time, so should be avoided.
Q: What if my dog gets the collar stuck?
A: Seresto collars feature a 2 step safety release system for quick release in the rare event of entrapment. If your dog becomes caught by the collar, their strength will allow the collar to release. There is also a pre-determined break point in the collar so that the collar will break under the dogs weight.
Q: How do I remove my dog’s Seresto collar?
A: Squeeze the outer sides of the buckle while pulling from the other side of the collar. You may find it easier to cut the collar off when replacing with a new Seresto collar. Dispose of used collars by wrapping them in paper and popping them in the rubbish.
Q: What are the active ingredients in Seresto?
A:There are two active ingredients: Imidacloprid, which kills adult fleas and flea larvae; and flumethrin, which repels and kills all life stages of ticks. Both ingredients act on contact without the need to bite.
Q: Can the Seresto collar be used alongside normal collars?
A: Absolutely. Seresto can be worn alongside your dog’s usual collar without losing efficacy, as long as the Seresto collar is in contact with hair and skin.
Q: Why am I still seeing a flea on my dog when they’re wearing a Seresto collar?
A: Fleas may still jump onto your dog when they go past them, even they’re wearing a Seresto collar. The active ingredients work on contact, which means the fleas need to grab onto the fur to get exposed to the active ingredient. However, once they have jumped on, the fleas will become disorientated before dying and falling off. You may therefore sometimes also see fleas moving slowly or ticks tangled in your dog’s fur.
Q: Do I also need to treat my dog for worms?
A: Seresto does not treat for worms. We recommend treating your dog with an all-wormer tablet, such as Drontal, every 3 months, or as otherwise advised by your veterinarian.
