The Adaptil calm diffuser is an excellent solution to help your dog feel comforted and secure at home, in situations like staying alone, loud noises, visitors and fears. Can be used to help settle new puppies into the home, and during thunderstorms and fireworks.

This plug-in diffuser provides continuous comfort to your dog at home, that releases a synthetic copy of the ‘canine appeasing pheromone’ to comfort your dog, to create a reassuring environment at home.

How to Use:

Just plug and play: screw the vial onto the electric diffuser unit, plug it into an electric socket and switch it on. Leave the Diffuser switched on continuously.

Each refill covers an area up to 70 m2 and lasts up to 30 days. Depending on its environmental surrounds, each Refill may last between 3-5 weeks. Ensure continuous comfort to your dog by using an Adaptil refill every month
Avoid plugging in the Adaptil Diffuser under shelves and furniture, or behind doors, curtains and furniture.
The diffuser should be checked monthly and replaced every six months to ensure optimum effect.

How does Adaptil work?

Mother dogs communicate with their puppies through natural chemical signals, or pheromones. These pheromones are scientifically called Dog Appeasing Pheromones. These pheromones are odorless messages and are only perceived by dogs, not cats or people.

Adaptil replicates these pheromones, providing comfort and security to dogs of all ages. This helps dogs and puppies to feel reassured and relaxed in challenging situations, reducing signs of stress and anxiety.
Using these pheromones, Adaptil helps puppies to feel as comforted and secure with their new family as they did with their mother.
Adaptil promotes better socialisation and learning to help puppies develop into confident, well-adjusted adults.

Where to plug?

Its recommended to plug the Adaptil diffuser in an electric socket. with a minimum clear distance above the diffuser of 1.20 m (4 ft)(The oily vapor carrying Adaptil rises in a column of warm air above the Diffuser), in an outlet of its own. The diffuser fits New Zealand sockets.

Where NOT to plug?

To avoid blocking the diffusion, and for safety, do not plug:

• Behind a door
• Underneath furniture
• In any socket without 1.20 m (4 ft) clear above it
• In a power board
• With an adaptor
• With an extension lead

How many do I need?

One Diffuser covers an area up to 70m². You may require several Diffusers for a large home, or for a multi-story home.

How long will it last?

This diffuser comes with 1 refill vial. One refill vial lasts up to 30 days It is recommended to replace the Refill every 4 weeks, even if a small amount of liquid remains in the vial
One Diffuser plug-in unit lasts 6 months. Renew the Diffuser every six months to ensure optimum effect

How fast will it work?

It takes 24 hours for the Diffuser to heat up and diffuse at optimal capacity, and for the pheromones to fill the room.
For situations that can be anticipated like fireworks, you should plug in the Diffuser 2-3 days in advance.

Should I unplug at night?

Don’t unplug or switch off the diffuser at night. The Diffuser is designed to be left on all the time. Switching the Diffuser on and off may lead to the wick crystallizing which may cause the product to stop working.

Is it compatible with other systems?

The Adaptil diffuser should only be used with Adaptil refills.

Can I recycle it?

The Refill vial is made from recyclable plastic materials (PET). The Refill cap is made from polyethylene (PE). These are generally recyclable materials but please check with your local recycling provider as to whether these materials are acceptable for recycling.

What is the use by date?

The Refill vial has an expiry date printed on the side of the label. We recommend to replace the electric Diffuser plug after 6 months of continuous use.
