Why do domestic dogs need MBS?
Before dogs were domesticated and took their place by our side, they led another very different life. In the wild, dogs were hunters, mainly of herbivores or grass eating animals, and the leader of the pack, or “top dog” would take its pick from the kill.
And what was that? The animals offal which contained semi-digested plantt matter, stomach bacteria, and vitamins peculiar to the powerhouse organs of the body.
This rich choice of food ensured that the top dog remained the best animal in the pack, not only to lead and protect, but to breed.
Today scientists can explain why this instinctive choice of food by the top dog gave it an advantage. The “live” good bacteria busily digesting the plant matter in the gut of the fallen animal is a “probiotics” microbe necessary to build a dogs microbiome.
Is there any advantage for me in feeding my dog MBS?
Dogs and their owners have been shown to share their microbiota. Therefore logic would dictate that reducing the pathogens in and around your dog would be beneficial for everyone’s health.

Why feed MBS daily?
The evidence suggests that MBS needs to be fed daily to be effective. The spores from B. subtilis disappear after about 3 days from the faeces. Current research indicates that synbiotics may produce essential benefits to maintain good health and well being for your dog, so it makes sense to keep their levels constant.
A microbiome in good shape may also result in good animal mental health. When the microbiome is out of balance the production of serotonin and other neurotransmitters drops.
MBS can be fed at any time as its elements survive the stomach acids that destroy other synbiotics (probiotics + prebiotics).
How do I introduce MBS to my fussy dog?
Shake the bottle well before use. Then mix thoroughly into your dog’s favourite food, or spoil him/her with a special treat like “forbidden” cat food, or lamb chops or chicken laced with MBS. Once your dog gets used to the taste of MBS they will eat anything it is added to, even home brand dog foods!
For the really fussy eater start by using MBS as a dipping sauce for your dog’s favourite hand fed tidbits.
