Feeding guidelines

Sprinkle 1 stick (2g) per day on food or treats. Most beneficial for cats over 3 months in age.

1. Why is Dr.Tummy recommended on cats older than 3 months?
Giving Dr Tummy to kittens under 3 months will not cause any harm, however we recommend Dr Tummy is best for cats 3 months and older. This is so the kitten’s gut has a naturally forming microbiome (intestinal flora). Naturally forming microbiomes are influenced by the rearing environment (humans) and the kitten’s mother, and they develop accordingly to suit that environment.  Dr. Tummy is intended to aid in intestinal health and immune enhancement, rather than influencing the development of the original natural microbiome.

2. How long does it take for Dr Tummy to work?

After giving Dr. Tummy for about 3 to 4 days, improvements in stool consistency will generally be seen. Improvements in immunity begin to be detected after 2 weeks of administration. If diarrhoea or other symptoms of ill-health continue after 2-3 weeks of administration, there may be issues beyond intestinal health, such as bacterial or viral infections, dietary factors (such as feed), and these should be investigated and treated accordingly.

3. Can you use Dr.Tummy while my cat is being treated with drugs for diarrhoea?

Using medication, especially antibiotics, often leads to the elimination of most bacteria that make up the intestinal microbiome. In this case, Dr. Tummy can play a vital role in restoring the microbiome, making it advisable to use Dr Tummy alongside such medication.
