How It Works
Nexgard Spectra for cats is designed for New Zealand cat behaviour:
Hunting – While we’d prefer them not to, cats are known to chase and hunt rodents such as mice, birds and other small wild prey that can host parasitic worms, including tapeworms.
Grooming – When grooming, cats swallow anywhere between 18-50% of their fleas.1,2 Fleas are intermediate hosts for the tapeworm Dipylidium caninum which means cats can become infected with tapeworms by swallowing fleas.
Roaming – Adventures around the neighbourhood, in gardens, local parks and public places where other animals go, expose kiwi cats to fleas and worms all year round.
Zoonotic Risk – Zoonosis are diseases that can be transmitted between animals and humans. Roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms represent zoonotic risk. If cats are not routinely dewormed, pet owners and their families (especially young children) are at increased risk of exposure and infection. NEXGARD SPECTRA for Cats helps protect against these zoonotic parasites.
Monthly Dosing – Treating only for fleas, treats only half the problem. Make sure you treat your cat for worms too. Monthly administration delivers optimal parasite control for both internal and external parasites.
How To Apply
The unique topical applicator makes applying simple and ensures complete and accurate dosing. To apply Nexgard Spectra for Cats, pull back the plunger slightly, twist and remove cap, and place the tip of the applicator on the skin. Apply the contents directly on the skin in one spot on the midline of the neck between the base of the skull and the shoulder blades. Nexgard Spectra for Cats should be administered monthly for optimal flea and worm control. For best advice on parasite control for your cat, ask your veterinarian.

I have 4 cats and love this product for them
Liny (verified owner) –
So easy to apply to my cats. Liquid is disbursed quickly from tube that liquid is applied before the cats get grumpy. Well tolerated and is so effective that cats stop scratching very quickly. As my cats are not cuddly cats so this product is great – I can scruff them and apply Nexgard in one easy movement. Definitely recommend this product as it covers a lot of health issues in the least amount of time and effort.

Great product, works well, just expensive!
Karen McGrail (verified owner) –
Love this product. Easy to use and great that it does fleas and worms etc as one of my cats does not like taking pills.
Shelley (verified owner) –
Love this product. Easier to apply than many other brands. I can get it on them before they get wind of it and run off. I have 4 cats, but with other brands as soon as I did 1 cat the others smelt it and took off, then looked suspiciously at me for hours! They don’t react like that with Nexgard.

I use this product as my cat refuses to take oral meds.
It is so easy to administer and does not “burn the skin” like other products.
Vita (verified owner) –
Started to use Nexgard few months ago. One of my cats hates oral medication and using other product (which also treats flee and worms) I had to give her once in 3 months a tablet from specific worm which previous product I used did not cover. I choose Nexgard as it covers all.

It’s not cheap but definitely worth the $ for a product which seems to work well and is quickly and easily applied on my 4 cats.

Such a great all rounder

Alot easier to apply as it doesn’t have strong smell like other flea treatments, I do notice she is bit uncomfortable/ restless next day when the fleas are fighting to get off her. But overall I’m happy with it being such a broad spectrum application, does ticks etc too.
Sarah Bennett (verified owner) –
Really easy to use – great combined flea/worm treatment

A fantastic product that works amazingly – really easy to use and covers both fleas and worms.
Highly recommended
Lorna Wuthrich –
We just bought the 3 pack of NexGard to try as our cat was continually scratching even after we had recently applied a different brand of flea treatment. Nexgard was so much easier to apply with the long syringe and doesn’t have a strong smell. Her scratching has stopped and she is a happy and more cuddlier cat. We will definitely use NexGard again and highly recommend it.

NexGard is fantastic especially if your cat has sensitive skin. I had tried another top brand but it basically burned her due to the alcohol content (unknown to me at the time). Sticking to tried and true treatment 🙂
